In the 1800s it was a toll road that went over Dallas Divide. When the Miners went to town they always had to save a dollar for the toll. It was often their last dollar. Linda's 50 Chevy ~ 18 x 13Limited Ed: $150 Artist Proof: $200 Linda Flounders owns the Newton Fork Ranch (a wonderful B&B just outside of Hill City). One of her prize possessions is a 1950 one ton Chevrolet pickup that she uses on a daily basis, when she is there. Jon passed by it early one very frosty morning on his way to Hill City. He loved the way the shadows fell across the scene and highlighted the pickup, building, and grass. | The Library ~ 18 X 13Limited Ed: $150 Artist Proof: $200 A warm cabin scene from Silver City in the Black Hills of SD with a distinctive outhouse as the welcoming "library". | Line Shack ~ 14 x 10Limited Ed: $125 Artist Proof: $175 The Line Shack might be considered a cowboy’s hotel, a place to tuck in for the night as he moves the cattle on up or down the line. Jon discovered this particular refuge in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming, near the headwaters of Buckskin Ed Creek, and swore he could almost smell the cowboy coffee brewing. |
